letter to parents

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am the Chinese Language teacher of Class 6CSI. The start of a new academic year holds promise of new learning, as well as prospects of personal growth in all areas and I would like to extend a warm welcome to all my students in 6CSI on joining me to embark on a new learning journey ahead.

Believing in strong parental involvement in a child’s holistic education, I have specially written this letter in hope that you will be able to participate in your child’s learning. Hence, I have set up an online Chinese subject class blog for Class 6CSI (http://6csi2015.blogspot.sg), it will be a platform for me to communicate with you and your child before and after lessons, as well as enabling you to keep track of your child’s homework for the day and learning progress in the classroom. Photos of students who scored 100 marks in spelling, performing excellently during lesson, and has impressive improvement will be shown in the blog, so as to encourage them to keep up the good work.

Besides, I will conduct the lesson using Microsoft Power Point slides, and provide notes after each lesson, so that your child can prepare for PSLE more efficiently. I will also emphasize on analyzing past year exam papers and the skill to tackle the questions, and relevant notes will be provided, so as to build up your child’s confident for PSLE.

Last but not least, it is my greatest wish to be able to understand and work closely with you in nurturing your child’s academic and personal character development.

        您好，我是6诚班的华文老师。欢迎6诚班的同学在2015年与我一起步入一个崭新的学年。

        特此致函，是因为我深信父母的参与能为孩子提供最全面的教育。因此，想通知您为了更好地与您和您的孩子保持课前课后的联系，我已经设立了一个6诚班的网上博客,网址是：http://6csi2015.blogspot.sg 。希望通过这个班级华文博客能够让您更好地了解孩子上课时的进度和所需完成的华文功课。此外，我也会把听写100分、上华文课表现优异和有所进步的学生的照片上载到此博客，以兹鼓励，让他们成为同学们学习的好榜样。

        为了让学生能比较有效地准备小六会考，我会提供学生每一课的字词讲义，应用微软简报解说每一课，并适时加入一些游戏和小组活动。除此之外，我也会着重在分析历届考题和强调考试技巧上，并提供一系列应考的讲义，希望他们能更有信心地应付考试。

       在此，我衷心地希望能与您密切合作，督促学生准时交功课，提醒他们温习当日所学。我相信在教师和家长们的用心教导和关怀下，6诚班的学生能快乐充实地度过小六这重要的一年。家长们若对华文的考试格式存有任何疑问或对教学上有一些意见，请电邮给我，我将会尽快与您联络。
